Winnie Wars Mud Run Part 2

I finished my Part 1 post on the mud run where I was running away from something. Did you guess what it was??????    COWS!!!! There was a huge stampede of cows that was coming right behind me and scared me to death!

The next obstacle that came up was a lot more fun then it looked. As I was going through the mud pit, the camera lady said, you are not muddy enough. So I stepped back and took a flying leap into the mud and came up looking like this…

Attractive, right??? I know my husband really wants to hug me right now! :0)

I lost my sunglasses in the process of diving, but it was so much fun diving into the mud. The next obstacle I decided to call the hug and swing because that is exactly what you had to do. You had to hug a punching bag, swing around and then try to shimmy over to the next punching bag without falling in the water.

It did not work so well for me on one of the bags and I almost busted it into the mud below me!

After I ran through the mud some more I stopped to take a break! These runs for me are not meant to have the best time and to be honest they do not even give you a timing chip! I am grateful for that, because sometimes you just need to have some fun with a run and not feel so much pressure.

For all of you short people out there, do you see the pegs way above me! Those were all along this wall and it was miserable! I love to rock climb on these kinds of walls, but it is so difficult for short people like me.

This is my friend/partner in crime Lori! She has ran the last mud run I was in as well as this one! She is all about having fun and getting muddy along the way!

If you can not tell, this wall is quite tall. I had to take a running leap to get over it and even then I had to climb my way over it! Thank goodness for my mother and father’s jumping leg genes.

We had to go through some tunnels and out of an abandoned car engine! The other side had wasp in them and there was no way that I was going to go through that hole! This home when looking at it I did not think it was that deep, but I ended up slipping and fell flat on my back! It was so fun! Who ever thought running and falling in the mud would be fun! :0)

At the end of the race we had to go under these massive beach balls where our heads ended up being mud ball caps. The only way to go under these beach balls is to slide your head under them and then use your bottom to hold it up for the person coming behind you. So if you are in front, then be prepared to get completely muddy like us!!

A little water/spray off time and we were rinsed off and ready for the rest of the day!

Security was probably having a blast seeing all of the people/costumes and muddy madness going on here. These are a couple of my husbands co-workers. I am sure they thought I looked pretty funny with my 80’s style workout outfit.

This is the man who makes it all possible! He has worked hard through a broken leg and all to make this race possible! I will definitely be attending the next race in september. If you are in the Southeast Texas area, check out this race and think about coming out and participating. Great run, food and people!

If you have not taken part in a mud run yet, you should definitely check it out! If you do not like to get muddy, then it may not be up your ally, but it really is a blast and worth a try one day!

Question: What would you do if somebody asked you to participate in a mud run?

  1. Looks like you had a really fun and muddy time, I think it’s so funny the race volunteer told you to go back through because you weren’t dirty enough, LOL!
