Moving Day Approaching

Brian and I finally set a date for our moving and closing. We are both so ready to move into our house it is hard to stand it. Our house is supposed to be finished this week and I can not wait to do our walkthrough this weekend. They still have to put our gas meter in, carpet and do some touch ups here and there. But so far, it looks amazing.

We got all of our appliances in as well. We opted for black appliances, granite countertops and a gas stove. There was many reasons to this, but some of the main ones were these:

– little fingerprints; you can see everything on stainless steel appliances.

– Gas Stove- During any storms we will still be able to cook some things.

– Granite Countertops- Better appraisal and better wear and tear.

We added in a little Texas and Louisiana. I love these little pieces in our backsplash. We also have a Texas style front door. I had to bring in both of our families heritage into our home.

We have our sink and appliances in now. We chose all bronze fixtures.

This is from the dining room looking into the kitchen.

They also added some brick around the outside of our post! I really do love the design of our house. I can not wait to walk through it on Sunday. Are there things that I would change about it? Yeah, probably, but as of right now I am learning from everything that we have done and I love what we have designed and how we designed it so far.

Coming up, I will have a recap of my latest mud run! I have another mud run in a couple of weeks.

Question: Would you ever build a house, or have you? What would you change now?

Ryders Sunglasses Review

A couple of months ago I was given the opportunity to review a pair of sunglasses from Ryders Eyeware.  I used these sunglasses many times over the past two months in different activities, such as running, swimming, watching kids at recess and just riding around in the car.

I absolutly love these sunglasses. This is my 2nd pair. My first pair I won and then they got scratched up after NUMEROUS runs/mud runs/ training runs/swims and so much more.

The sunglasses in the above picture are my previous pair of Ryders.

I LOVED these glasses. I just wish I would have been a little bit easier on them and not scratched them up so much.

Ryders Eyeware are phenomenal glasses. This was taken from their website about their polarized lenses.

“Our Polarized lenses are made using an injection process that ensures they’re optically correct, decreasing eye fatigue and increasing comfort. As with all of our lenses, RYDERS Polarized lenses provide protection against 100% UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light to 400nm.”

Whenever I was teaching swimming I did not have any problem with the glare from the pool outside of from the sun ever hurting my eyes. I could practically look into the sun and it would not hurt my eyes.

These glasses come with small nose pads and temple tips. They are comfortable on the side of your head and fit snuggly, so that there is no slip. They also fit comfortably on your nose so that there is no slip or pushing up and down on your nose.

These glasses above are the ones that I received to review. They do not sell the ones that I have before anymore, but these are the next best thing. I actually like how it does not have a frame on the bottom of the lenses.

This gives you an idea of how they are sized.

Overall, I have used these glasses for numerous types of sport, including swimming in the salt/chlorine water and they are still going strong. My last pair of glasses I had for 2 years and they held up great! Below are a couple of pictures from my swimming lessons this summer where I wore my glasses everyday for 4-6 hours at a time. I taught swimming lessons 4-5 days a week for the whole summer.

Disclaimer: I was given the opportunity to review these sunglasses for my opinion alone.

Question: Is there a type of sunglasses that you just love and can not live without? These are my favorite out of all the ones I have tried!

Guess What I am??

Hey everyone!

School started back up, so that means I have been missing in action (MIA) for the last couple of weeks. I was helping to train a new teacher, getting school stuff ready and started and that did not leave much time left for anything else. We started school two weeks ago and I have been running around like a mad teacher ever since then.

Aside for that, I have some very important news to share…

Does anybody see anything different about my page??? I hope so, because…

EEEEEEKKKKKK!!! I have been waiting to apply for this since I heard about it a few months ago. I have been stalking (not in a weird way :0)) their facebook and twitter pages for quite some time and the moment that I saw that I could apply I did! I just received the e-mail today and I can not wait to get into this community and see what all it holds in store for me!

If you have not heard of SWEAT PINK, here is a synopsis of what it is:

“We believe that kicking ass is best done in pretty shoes. We’ve learned that real women sweat, and sweat hard. We know that assertiveness, strength, and ambition are the ultimate feminine qualities. We concede that sometimes it takes hours to get ready, but we’re also no stranger to just rolling out of bed and going. We’re convinced that we run faster in pink shoelaces. We believe in pushing our selves, and we believe in giving ourselves a break, too. We’re all about the rush of endorphins and the thrill of the challenge. We’re all for looking great and feeling even better. We’re committed to finding our best fit, and making it stick.”– Taken from Fit Approach Facebook Page

Check out their  Facebook page HERE, and follow their twitter HERE to see what we are all about!

I am gearing up for my next mud run that will happen in just two weekends. I am so excited for this run with my friend.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable time this past weekend. We went to a wedding and a college football game!

Now, it is back to the real world of teaching and balancing life. More house pictures to come soon. I know I am leaving some of you hanging on the progress! We should be coming up to 45 days before the house is completed anytime now.

Question: How many of you loved the cold front that came through yesterday and today?

I know I did! It felt amazing!
