Crossfit Open- DONE!!!

This past week I finished the Crossfit Open. It was a ton of fun and was extremely hard, but I am proud to say that I finished each workout and was able to RX every single one! Here is a rundown of the workouts that we had to do each week for 5 weeks.

13.1

17 minutes of:
40 Burpees
45 pound Snatch, 30 reps
30 Burpees
75 pound Snatch, 30 reps
That was as far as I could get to, but I had never done a 75 pound snatch before.

13.2

75 pound Shoulder to overhead, 5 reps
75 pound Deadlift, 10 reps
15 Box jumps, 20″ box

13.3

150 Wall balls (20 lbs to 10′ target)
90 Double-unders
30 Muscle-ups

I’m not going to lie. This one was killer. The 150 wall balls killed your legs and then you had to go straight into Doubleunders.

95 pound Clean and jerk, 3 reps
3 Toes-to-bar
95 pound Clean and jerk, 6 reps
6 Toes-to-bar
95 pound Clean and jerk, 9 reps
9 Toes-to-bar
95 pound Clean and jerk, 12 reps
12 Toes-to-bar

The Wednesday before I did this workout (on Friday) I had Clean and Jerked 105 pounds. I had never lifted that amount of weight before, but I had everybody in the crossfit gym cheering me on to finish it and I did! This workout hurt since I had just lifted that amount of weight!

65 pound Thruster, 15 reps
15 Chest to bar Pull-ups

Up to this point all I have been able to do is the regular kipping pull-ups. However, this day I must have felt a surge of energy and was able to knock out all of my Chest to Bar Pullups- even doing 5 in a row! I am not sure if I can do that again, but I was able to do it that day! That was a huge accomplishment of mine to be able to do that and do it well!

My opinion of the Crossfit Open overall was this:

I thought it was fantastic as well as the support was outstanding. I will definitely be doing this again next year as I see the areas that I need to be stronger in now. I am glad that I signed up even though I have only been doing Crossfit for around 6 months now. It was a great experience and I got to meet a ton of great people along the way. If you have not gotten involved in crossfit, give it a try and see what you think! Am I ever going to be #1 on the charts….NO WAY, but I will give it the best I can and do what my body will let me do! That is all I can ask for!

Question: Have you ever completed a competition against thousands of people before? If so, what? 

I have a mud run this weekend that I am going to be racing in…it is 7 miles long! Then I promise I will update on my color run from 2 weekends ago and that one!
